The Achilles’ Heel of American Democracy

01 Jul

During the years, U.S.A rulers have claimed they’ve brought comfort for the nations and have treated them and the world as the masses have liked. But, it is really important to think about such claims in a way that to what degree they have come to practice. We’ve heard several times from men like Obama, Bush, etc. that the US government is bringing peace and ease for the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. We’ve heard their criticisms about the lack of freedom and democracy in countries like Iran. We’ve heard that they believe all the nations and governments should apply the United States as a pattern of civilization to be successful. We’ve heard that they are trying to eliminate all the atomic bombs from the earth. We’ve heard many of these claims, but have you ever thought about how these claims have been performed or are going to be performed?

They US government is bringing peace for Iraq and Afghanistan, but we witnessed nothing less than blood and slaughtering some sinless people. No! They were not sinless. Their sin was that they were living in the country of oil. Their sin was that they didn’t like the foreigners to intervene in their affairs. Their sin was that they wanted themselves to take the control of their country. So did the people of Afghanistan the same sins .

O, the messenger of peace in the world! What is the use of your atomic bombs? How come you should have whatever kind of weapon that you like and they don’t threat the peace, but when you hesitate that some country else may do something to be able to have a weapon, it should be eliminated from the existence because it’s threatening the peace of the world? Why if you are civilized and democratic and you welcome the will of the masses, support something called VETO in the United Nations? Is not this the dictatorship of some handful governments over the world? Why do you think you have right to deprive a country of nuclear energy while you yourself have atomic bomb? These plentiful questions have no answer but the modern dictatorship of U.S.A. The Achilles ‘ heel of American democracy is that it is changeable according to the interests of the governors. It is not the vote of the majority that talks; it is the vote of American interests that talks. So how is such a dictatorship going to save the world?

World Cup of Gaza

17 Jun

Todays people of Gaza are being slaughtered by the wild soldiers of Benjamin Netanyahu who knows nothing of humanity. The only thing  they know is their ominous interests. They let no one approach Gaza to help the defenceless people there. As everyone was informed they exploded the ship carrying aid to Gaza and killed some people. I don’t want to repeat what everybody knows. Everybody knows how cruel is this occupying regime and there is no need to retell what criminals they have committed. The point I am going to mention is that unfortunately this catastrophe in Gaza became contemporaneous with the football world cup so is being ignored. Football world cup is distracting attentions from what is happening in Gaza. All the media are covering the news of Africa but not enough attention is paid to the catastrophe of Gaza and the occupying regime is seizing the day and is doing whatever it wants.

Unfortunately the international waves against the occupying regime which was created after the explosion of Turkish aid ship, is not now as much as the first days and it is because the world cup has distracted the media. Everyone should be informed of the unwanted distracting event of world cup. This world cup should be named the world cup of Gaza, but now is a world cup whose champion is the occupying regime. For no one cares what is it doing in Gaza.

The world should know that this world cup should be the one of Gaza. We shouldn’t let people forget about the slaughtered defenceless HUMANs in Gaza.

3 Days Offline …

14 Jun

We are living here next to Tehran University, where many believed was the center of the unrest in 22nd of Khordad, the anniversary of the election 88. Exactly just when we needed internet to know how the Medias would cover the news of our place, the phone lines had problems and as a result we got offline for 3 days. Now I am back here reporting what was going on in the last 3 days.

22nd of Khordad: it was the day of police demonstration. Police had a maneuver of power in the streets with lots of soldiers and military equipments passing. I was proud of them. I could feel tranquility with the existence of this powerful police force. I walked in the streets: Vali Asr Street, Enghelab Street, Enghelab square, etc. I could see no one from the followers of Mr. mUSAvi there. Even the traffic was lighter than the other days that one could say there was the end-point for the Greens. Everything was as it should’ve been. Even I myself didn’t expect them to be such handful or a better saying is that I didn’t expect them to not be(!). I remember that last 22nd of khordad was the demonstration of Iranian participation in specifying their future. 4o,ooo,ooo people took part in the election and 24,000,000 of them voted for Mr. Ahmadinejad. It was the highest percent of participation in any elections in the history of the world; an 85-percent-participation which’s never happened nowhere in the world. What an interesting version of democracy is ours: People came to vote, voted, and when the others came to spoil their vote, they came again to protect it and did so and kicked the enemies out of our country.

23rd of Khordad: I was in the office. I was not out to see what was happening but I don’t think something special happened.

24th of Khordad: nothing special. Just, when I went to eat lunch at university I saw a handful number of the Greens, who were shouting some slogans, demonstrating in the campus with some repetitive and stupid slogans with no reasoning.

I should confess I cannot understand such people. They claim that the election was not healthy and the government manipulated the votes. But why do they claim like this? I don’t know, may be just because their candidate was not chosen. I haven’t still heard a reason for this claim after one year.

I think we should still pose this important question which’s been remained without answer for one year.

“What are your reasons for your claim?”

I have been posing this question and have received no answer. If you have the answer please tell me. I’m really willing to know.

Any way!

The most important thing now is that I am online again after 3 days……

The Kind; The Powerful

11 Jun

Different people talk about the personality of Imam Khomeini, who cannot be segregated from the Iranian identity, differently. Some of them try to show him as a very kind man who always attracts the others. Their Imam is a man who is justified to the standards of today’s world; to the western human (!) right, which, in reality, is the Americans -humans, animals, etc. – rights rather than human rights. Their Imam is justifiable to the tastes of those who don’t like to move against the waves which is what the Americans like. On the other hand, there are some people whose Imam is always angry and no one could see him smiling. Both of these approaches are as wrong as one another.

Far from these two extremist attitudes, we should say our Imam is a great man who is kind, where he should be so, and is angry in the other position. He is a mixture of kindness and anger. When we read his letter to his wife, we witness an Imam who is more lover to his wife than Romeo to Juliet. In the other position when he is talking about the regime change in the period of Shah, he is more powerful than any other person in the world. Even after the revolution, he was angry with the conservatives who didn’t like to stay revolutionary men. Those who were trying to pretend to be intellectual and had left the revolutionary actions and those who shouted the ideals of East and West in the Islamic society were the audience of Imam when objected to conservatives and credulous ones.

Imam Khomeini’s comprehensive and multi dimensional personality is what made him special. He was kind and calm from one hand and was revolutionary on the other hand and the distinction between his manners is somehow impossible. He was the kindest while shouting on enemies and was the most powerful while was showing his kindness to a little boy. He should be seen as he is. And if we just see one aspect of his personality we’ve betrayed him and have deprived ourselves of his comprehensive personality as well. He was the most special man ……

No Promise To Blood

10 Jun

This year, I5th of khordad was another confirmation on the notion that our revolution was the revolution of ideals. People gathering together in the Imam Khomeini’s shrine showed that more important than who you are is what you do and what your stances are. Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini, was rejected by the people when was going to deliver a speech just because of his not wise stances and his fellowship with the subjects of Fetneh[1] after the presidential election of 88. People could say nothing to him and not complain just because the blood of Imam Khomeini was flowing in his vessels, but if you are not following Imam and his thought, no matter who you are, people would reject you and the same thing happened to Hassan Khomeini some days ago.

Although it was a domestic event and no foreigner should intervene, there was also a universal message for the governments. This “NO” to Hassan Khomeini was a big “NO” to Mirhossein mUSAvi, Karrubi, etc. And as a result, was a bigger “NO” to the USA and its supporters. They can easily understand that despite what they have done during the recent years and specially last year, Iranian people are still ready to defeat the enemies of the revolution and its ideals. Our people haven’t changed in terms of supporting their leader, their revolution and in one word their religion.

And a teaching sentence:

“the real democratic system is not one in which just the vote of people talks, it is one that not only the vote of peoples talks, but also the people themselves protect it.”

[1] Fetneh is an islamic term for the time when right and wrong are mixed together and if you are not visioned enough you cannot recognize the right. The great leader of Islamic Republic of Iran called the unrest after the presidential election of 88, Fetneh.

a sonnet by shakespear which reminds us of high school period

10 Jun

Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,

So do our minutes hasten to their end,

Each changing place with that which goes before

In sequent toil all forwards do contend.

Nativity, once in the main of light,

Crawls to maturity, wherewith, being crowned,

Crooked eclipses ‘gainst his glory fight

And Time that gave, doth now his gift confound.

Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth,

And delves the parallels in beauty’s brow,

Feeds on the rarities of natures truth,

And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow;

And yet, to times, in hope, my verse shall stand,

Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.

Today, 13th of Khordad….

04 Jun

Today, 13th of Khordad….

Exactly one year after that historical debate between mr. Ahmadinejad and Mr. mUSAvi…..

I’m not going to talk about the conditions of those days, for it is so fresh in our mind that if we didn’t know one year has gone, we’d definately think it’s not more than some few months. A historical debate which became the cause of many other actions and decisions. A point in our history that many believe was the starting point of all the election proceeding events; a point that political communications and negotiations in our country can be devided to before that and after that. From that time on every body could talk about the others more openly (or more offensively). Actually there were much taboo no longer after that point. Many believe that debate much influenced the dispersal of votes to the interest of mr. Ahmadinejad. His active analysis of those who were competing against him, knocked them down. He related all of them (mUSAvi, Hashemi and Khatemi) to one another and actually judged them one unit rival instead of three different opponents. He believed all of them were fighting against him and destructing his personality for some 3 months. I don’t judge whether he was right or wrong, but I know mr. mUSAvi had nothing to say that night and it was clearly visible even in his heavily breathig and phisycal conditions if not in his speech.

I can easily remember how stressful those days were. I can remember people gathering together late at that night and discussing about what’d happend some minutes ago. I can remember many other things as well but are not important now. I want to say something else.

Although some things were said in that debate that shouldn’t have been said, many other things got clear for every body. That debate specified the instrumental approach of some of reformists to some terms like freedom of speech, free criticise, etc.

I am not going to make this rememberence too long, but I was thinking how helpful it is to think about what happened during last 15 months and what actions were taken by politicians, people, etc.

What a clearer dark year was last year! wasn’t it?

Mountain of Patience; Mountain of Power

03 Jun

I’d never seen her even once. I’d never heard about her either. I don’t really know why everyone in our office was shocked when they knew she’d passed away. Although I hate telling bad news, I always am the subject of doing so and did the same in this case as well. However, the next day, I set off to Shiraz to take part in her death ceremony. It was really difficult to face some people for the first time in the death ceremony of their sister. Later I heard that this student of M.A. in medical management at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences loved her supreme leader very much. She had some special political analysis as well. I entered to Shiraz and the closer I got to their house, the more worried I became. I was worried how I should have faced them; some people who’d lost their sister and might not be able stomach the existence of the others like me. In the taxi, I was preparing the sentences I should’ve used there. Finally I arrived, and the only thing which was shocking to me was the people living there, but not in the way that I’d thought before. I didn’t expect to face such people, who welcomed me far from their problem at the time; a mother who, I really believe was a mountain of patience and a mountain of power; 3 brothers, each of them was friendlier than the other; some people whose Shirazi accent made them seem more pure and lovelier. The mother reminded me of the protagonist of the Da novel. She was standing upright and in a way that a weak person like me couldn’t understand such a great mind and patience. It was really difficult for me to stand in front of the mother with a great mind while my knees were making me kneel. The oldest brother seemed to me a really deep man. When he was talking of his sister and while tears were flowing down his face, I could see no complain to what’d happened. He was only talking of his pure love to his family and his lost sister, and was determined to love them more. I have never liked to be someone else and to be born in another family rather than mine, but I should confess at that day I thought that if I should have been someone else and been born in another family, I really liked to be a member of this pure family with that beautiful love to one another…..
